Vic Dhillon is a compassionate
advocate for our community who understands that we need a strong economy to
support the public services that you depend on.
Vic was first elected to the Ontario
legislature in 2003. Since that time, he has successfully fought to protect
transient workers at risk of exploitation; support small business owners; and
build economic ties internationally so that we can better fund our schools,
hospitals and services for seniors.
Prior to joining government, Vic
established a family-owned business. He
knows how to stick to a budget, and he understands what small business owners
need – and their important role in job creation in our community.
Compassionate at heart, Vic has worked tirelessly to help those who are less fortunate in our community. He successfully led many non-profit fundraising campaigns for the local food bank, the Korean War Memorial, and a leading local group that helps regions after natural disasters (such as the ice storm in eastern Ontario, the earthquake in Pakistan and the tsunami in Asia). Vic has also been credited by some local residents as being instrumental in saving the Knight’s Table, a non-profit diner that provides meals for Brampton’s poor and homeless.
Vic has lived in Brampton for most of his life. He and his wife, Shaminder, are raising their children here. They have two sons, Robin and Sajjan, and a daughter named Taj.
